ANNOUNCING SUMMER BROWSING HOURS AND MORE!

A while back I said I envisioned the library would be fully open in August. At that time, I assumed we would have a new Adult/Teen Services Librarian and be fully staffed, but that hasn’t happened. As you’ve no doubt seen or heard, staffing is a big problem right now for businesses and service providers, including libraries across the state. Because of this, we have had to re-envision our public service plan.

First, we are maintaining our summer public service hours with one BIG change--unrestricted browsing during the times listed below:
Tuesdays from 10:00-12:30
Wednesday from 1:00-4:30
Thursday from 5:00-7:00

No more appointments with time limits, and everyone can enter the building through the parking lot door.

This schedule gives Lynn, Alexis, and me time to catch up on work we’ve set aside while we’ve been understaffed and executing an amazing Summer Reading Challenge! It also gives us time to get the physical building fully reset so you will once again have places to sit, work, and use computers.

Second, the library will be closed from Tuesday, August 30th – Saturday, September 4th while all of my incredible and dedicated staff takes some much-needed vacation time.

Third, the library reopens on Tuesday, September 7th with expanded hours including Saturdays:
Tuesday/Thursday 3:00-8:00
Wednesday/Friday 10:00-noon
Saturday 9:00-noon
These public service hours allow us to serve you, complete “behind the scenes” work, and continue our Parking Lot Pickup service until we are fully staffed.

Finally, the staff and I want to thank you for your patience and support. Your kind comments, cards, emails, and colorful artwork give us the inspiration we need to continue to provide the best level of service to this community. Stay tuned as we roll out our Fall schedule of Storytimes, adult book groups, and more!

Parking Lot Pickup remains available Tue/Wed/Fri 10:00AM - 5:00PM, and Thu 10:00AM - 7:00PM.
