Ice Cream Finale Hits the Spot

Friday's Rock 'n Roll Ice Cream Finale for Littles, Kids, Tweens & Teens "LIbraries ROCK" Summerfest was just what the doctor ordered for a hot, humid, summer day. The line was long, but the ice cream was plentiful giving everyone a chance for second helpings.

Littles and Kids "Libraries ROCK" Summerfest
Grand Prize raffle drawings followed the ice cream sundaes. Littles and Kids received their raffle tickets at the end of week based on the number of points they earned during the six-weeks of activities. They had a hard time trying to decide where to place their tickets with so many great places to choose from!

Kids were issued the challenge to complete every item in their Summerfest booklet. Those who did were to receive a book placed in the library collection in their honor, and the opportunity to Silly-String Miss Carrie-Anne!

Fourteen children rose to the challenge. They surrounded Miss Carrie-Anne, who was armed with an inflatable guitar to fend off the attack, and had a great time:

Tween and Teen "Libraries ROCK" Summerfest

Grand Prize raffle tickets earned during the six-week Summerfest from books read. Prizes were drawn with winners receiving gift cards or passes to area businesses and amusements.

Tweens & Teens reading at least four books during the six-week Summerfest received a credit of $6.00 to their library account to be applied to past and future overdue fees. Six of the forty-nine participants earned the credit:
