Tween Book Group Reads Smile for October 12th
Page Turners, our book group for tweens in grades 6-8, is reading Smile by Raina Telgemeier for their get-together on Thursday, October 12th. The group now meets at the Litchfield Middle School in Room 10 right after school. Page Turners begins with an after school snack, followed by a discussion of the book, and a short activity.
Copies of the book are available in the upper-level Teen area and the lower- level Young Readers’ Room.
About the Book
Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl
Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What
follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again
braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake
teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with:
a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not
so friendly.
