The Puppetmaster Contest!

paperbag puppets photo courtesy of autumndrygn on flickrKids -- Make a paper bag puppet of your favorite storybook character or animal and join our Puppetmaster Contest in the Young Readers' Room! Contest begins on May 1st, and all entries are due at the library by 6pm on May 22nd.

Once you've decided who (or what) you'd like to make, you just start with a paper lunch bag. Next you'll need imagination - - you can use crayons, construction paper, felt, yarn, feathers, whatever materials you'd like - - and turn that lunch bag into a handy puppet! (Make sure when you place your hand in the paper bag puppet, that your fingers fit around the inside flap so you can make him talk. I want to hear what all the puppets have to say!)

- Winners will be selected based on imagination and neatness.

- Entries will be separated into 3 age categories: 3-5 years, 6-8 years, and 9-11 years.

- Winners will be notified by May 27th.
