Steve Blunt in Concert on Tuesday at 6:30!
Just mention the name "Steve Blunt" and watch your children's eyes light up! They know who he is, and the love what he does.
Blunt's summer reading concert is a "ROCKIN’ SINGALONG, with a few solid chunks of “underground” material–and more. Steve’s “Volcano Song” will have kids across the Granite State (and beyond) rocking out and erupting with audience participation. From Steve’s 2002 CD “Hang On, Henry!” comes the paleontological hit, “Digga Digga Dinosaur” – a song so classic it’s Jurassic, with fossilized shaker eggs for all to play. And, of course, there’s Steve’s original tune, "Dig Into Reading," a singing, clapping, dancing-along song that delves into all thing subterranean.
Overall, Steve’s show features a variety of original and traditional material that appeals to a wide age-range—and it’s all kid-tested over the course of many years’ experience in the arts and education. (Yes, Steve’s older than dirt.) So plant ya’ now, dig ya’ later—and hope to see ya’ soon at the library!"
Bring a blanket and join us on the library lawn for an evening full of family fun. (Rain location: Litchfield Middle School Cafeteria)
This event was made possible through a Kids, Books & the Arts Grant, with funding provided by the Byrne Foundation, CHILIS, the Cogswell Benevolent Trust, the NH Library Association, and the NH State Library, as well as a grant from the U. S. Institute of Museum & Library Services.

All Booked Up Reads Grave Sight for August
Grave Sight is All Booked Up's selection for their August 7th meeting at 6:30 p.m. Copies the Charlaine Harris novel are available upstairs at the Circulation Desk.
About the Book
Harper Connelly has what you might call a strange job: she finds dead people. She can sense the final location of a person who's passed, and share their very last moment. The way Harper sees it, she's providing a service to the dead while bringing some closure to the living - but she's used to most people treating her like a blood-sucking leech. Traveling with her step-brother Tolliver as manager and sometime-bodyguard, she's become an expert at getting in, getting paid, and getting out fast. Because for the living it's always urgent - even if the dead can wait forever.

About the Book
In the aftermath of a war, America’s landscape has been ravaged and two-thirds of the population left dead from a vicious strain of influenza. Fifteen-year-old Stephen Quinn and his family were among the few that survived and became salvagers, roaming the country in search of material to trade. But when Stephen’s grandfather dies and his father falls into a coma after an accident, Stephen finds his way to Settler’s Landing, a community that seems too good to be true. Then Stephen meets strong, defiant, mischievous Jenny, who refuses to accept things as they are. And when they play a prank that goes horribly wrong, chaos erupts, and they find themselves in the midst of a battle that will change Settler’s Landing--and their lives--forever.

Girls in White Dresses is the Book of the Month in July
About the Book
Isabella, Mary, and Lauren feel like everyone they know is getting married. On Sunday after Sunday, at bridal shower after bridal shower, they coo over toasters, collect ribbons and wrapping paper, eat minuscule sandwiches and cakes. They wear pastel dresses and drink champagne by the case, but amid the celebration these women have their own lives to contend with: Isabella is working a dead-end job, Mary is dating a nice guy with an awful mother, and Lauren is waitressing at a midtown bar and wondering why she's attracted to the sleazy bartender.
