HERE’S HOW PARKING LOT PICKUP SERVICE WORKS:

STEP 1: REQUEST YOUR ITEMS

Please place requests by 2:00pm on the day before the pickup day you wish to use.  Requests made Saturday-Monday may not be ready until Wednesday.

 

If you have a more immediate need, please call and let us know. We will meet that need if at all possible. 


STEP 2: WAIT TO BE CONTACTED 

When your items are ready, you will receive an email or phone call according to your contact preference on file. 

 

STEP 3: PICK UP YOUR ITEMS

Masks, social distancing, and hand sanitizing are requested when entering the building are requested for everyone age 3 and up. If you are not comfortable coming into the entry area, just let us know and we will happily arrange Trunk Pickup for you. Reserve bags are found on the table inside the door. Overflow bags are found on the table outside the children's room door.
 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I don't have a library card! Can I still use this service?
You may register for a library card online.  Your first materials pickup will be scheduled as a Trunk Pickup (see below), so you can hold your photo ID or other proof of residency against your car window for verification.
What if I am unable to walk from my vehicle to the pickup location?
Let us know and we will arrange contactless Trunk Service at your vehicle.
 
What safety precautions is the library taking?
Library staff members are required to wear face masks and social distance while in common areas of the building. Disinfection protocols are ongoing.

What if I don't know exactly what I want?
No problem!  You can do one of these three things:

  • First, you can go to the online catalog and click on a link under "What's New?" found in the left column.
  • Second, you can fill out this form to receive Librarian recommended reads based on the preferences you list.
  • Third, you can fill out this form to receive a Librarian selected bundle of materials based on a theme or subject.
  • Finally, you can "browse the shelf" by item covers
 
How do I place holds on items?
Watch this short tutorial on placing an online hold, then go to the library's online catalog. If you discover you have forgotten your library account password, or don’t remember ever having one, click on “Forgot password?” to reset. If you need additional assistance in placing a hold, please don't hesitate to call.
 
Can I request items from other libraries?
Yes. The state-wide Inter-Library Loan System is available.  Place your request using this form or directly from the statewide catalog.  Items received via Inter-Library Loan are handled with the same safety protocols as our own materials.
 
How will I find out when my holds are ready?
You will receive an email or phone call according to your contact preference on file.  
 
Can I request additional items after 2:00PM and pick them up with my original request?
Every effort is made to add newly requested items to your current pickup.
 
How do I find my items on the table?
Your items are packaged in a brown paper bag labeled with your last name and first initial.
 
Can I talk to a librarian while I’m at the library?
Use the intercom next to the lift (elevator) to contact a librarian for help or with a question.

Where should I return my items?
Return your items in the outdoor drop box. We are not responsible for anything left on the tables inside.
