What's the Right Water Treatment Technology for Your Well Water?

I know this is a touchy subject for many of you, but the NH Department of Environmental Services has information and guidance for treating your well water if it's found to contain common pollutants.

Simply enter your well water test results and learn what's recommended for you.

NHDES recommends private well owners test their well water every three-five years to protect their family's health and home.

Dine-Out at Rocco's Pizza on August 10, 2017 to Support the Friends of the Library
We hope you will consider dining-out or ordering food from Rocco's Pizza on Thursday, August 10th. 15-20% of your bill will be donated to the Friends of the Library when you present a donation request slip to your server or cashier.

The Friends group provides goods and monetary support to the library for programs and services outside of our town appropriated budget. In the past, the Friends of the Library has provided the library with a digital camera, a basic sound system for outdoor programs, activity passes to local attractions for the community to borrow, an outdoor book return, funds for the summer reading program, and much, much, more.

Other ways to support the Friends of the Library:
> Join the group as an active member or make a donation as a contributor.
> Donate your gently used books, DVDs and audiobooks for their book sales.
> Advocate for the library within our community by letting people know everything the library has to offer.

Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen.

Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

Adult Book Group Reads The Boys in the Boat for August 3rd or 9th

Adult Book Group Reads "The Boys in the Boat" for August 4th or 9th, 2017
Daniel James Brown’s The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics is the chosen title for All Booked Up’s discussion on Thursday, August 3rd at 1:00PM or Wednesday, August 9th at 6:30PM .  Copies of the book are available in the upper level “New” room.

About the Book
For readers of Unbroken, out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times—the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

It was an unlikely quest from the start. With a team composed of the sons of loggers, shipyard workers, and farmers, the University of Washington’s eight-oar crew team was never expected to defeat the elite teams of the East Coast and Great Britain, yet they did, going on to shock the world by defeating the German team rowing for Adolf Hitler. The emotional heart of the tale lies with Joe Rantz, a teenager without family or prospects, who rows not only to regain his shattered self-regard but also to find a real place for himself in the world. Drawing on the boys’ own journals and vivid memories of a once-in-a-lifetime shared dream, Brown has created an unforgettable portrait of an era, a celebration of a remarkable achievement, and a chronicle of one extraordinary young man’s personal quest.

July's Book of the Month is Everything I Never Told You

July 2017's Book of the Month is "Everything I Never Told You"
Everthing I Never Told You by Celeste Ng is our featured title for July. Copies of the book are available in the “New” room on the upper level of the library.

About the Book
“Lydia is dead. But they don’t know this yet.” So begins this exquisite novel about a Chinese American family living in 1970s small-town Ohio. Lydia is the favorite child of Marilyn and James Lee, and her parents are determined that she will fulfill the dreams they were unable to pursue. But when Lydia’s body is found in the local lake, the delicate balancing act that has been keeping the Lee family together is destroyed, tumbling them into chaos. A profoundly moving story of family, secrets, and longing, Everything I Never Told You is both a gripping page-turner and a sensitive family portrait, uncovering the ways in which mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, and husbands and wives struggle, all their lives, to understand one another.
