Get Ready for Black Bear Season
Each year Litchfield residents report black bear sightings. Whether the bear is taking down your bird feeders or showing up near your school bus stop, seeing a black bear can be thrilling and scary at the same time.
Join us in the Campbell High School Auditorium on Wednesday, November 30th at 7:00PM for a fascinating program on the behavior of black bears.
Wildlife biologist Ben Kilham explores the fascinating world of black bears. He has spent over 20 years observing and documenting the bears, as well as rescuing of orphaned black bear cubs. Through photos, video and lecture, Kilham shares his wealth of knowledge followed by a question and answer period.
This program is free and open to the public.
Ben Kilham has been the focus of several news articles and documentaries, including National Geographic’s A Man Among Bears and Animal Planet’s Papa Bear. He is also co-author of the book Among the Bears: Raising Orphaned Cubs in the Wild and author of Out on a Limb: What Black Bears Have Taught Me about Intelligence and Intuition.
